Today I felt like I had finally "arrived" at Stanford when I saw a crane moving a brand new palm tree into the courtyard of Old Union. I happened to have a camera with me so I snapped a few photos. There is an urban legend at Stanford that it cost 30K to install each palm tree on Palm Drive. It's not true but I think it helps the undergrads feel better about how much it costs them to get a bachelors degree.
